Sorry for the absense here lately but I have been very busy with the news that I am going to be a mama again. And dealing with all the awesomeness that goes aong with it - exhaustion, nausea, food aversions, no drive to do anything. Also, being busy with the KGB (Kabuki Guns Burlesque) sewing and my machine randomly deciding not to work sometimes.

I do have a bunch of new shades to swatch for you guys, as well as photos of the troupes stuff I've been making but it will take a while to get all the photos in order and ready for posting. I'm also going to a video shoot for my fav glitter company LIT Cosmetics next week so I may be making a post about that with some behind the scenes shots late next week.

I've been scouring the webbernet for some new maternity clothes and I found some great design elements that I can't wait to incorporate into my new summer clothes. Last time I was preggo during the winter and I was about 8000 degrees and wearing summer dresses I made. Now I live in a place where winter usually means 4ft of snow and wind chills of -40 celcius for about 5-6 months. Thats a generalization obviously and it can range lower and higher than that but thats a pretty good approximation. We don't have spring, we have slushy windy grossness then super hot dry summers up to 35 degrees celcuis for 3-4months; then fall-ish weather where everything just dies and gets dull brown for about 2 months when winter starts again. So back to my original train of thought... I'm expecting to be that same 8000 degrees internally and giving off heat like mad but this time in our wacky plus 15-40 degree celcius summer. Add to that a trip to Toronto in the middle of their hot humid summer for a wedding and I'll be nice and uncomfortable all summer :). So like I was saying, I was looking for some really lightweight summer maternity clothes that I could either replicate in fabrics that I actually liked with my own flare added in and stuff and realized that I will be in need of maternity shorts. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find decently priced maternity bermuda/city shorts that are made for people with long and skinny legs? Nearly impossible. I have a hard time finding shorts that fit and look good on me to begin with because of my proportions - I have long legs for my height and my thighs are very slim so I cannot wear shorts that are shorter that the bermuda/city shot style otherwise they make me look like a 12 year old trying to wear my mothers old shorts. And no one wants to look like that. I really really don't want to cut up the ones I currently have to add maternity panels around the belly because I really like them and want to be able to wear them next year but on the same token if I do buy nice ones like I currently have with the intention of adding my own maternity panels I'll probably get cold feet to cut them up because I like them so much as well. I may just have to suck it up and buy them to alter anyways. There's just no way I can find pre-made ones in the styles I like and fit where I live. Skirts too... I really like making skirts and dresses though so they won't be as much of a problem - I just have to make sure I buy some jersey for the belly panels as I usually dont like buying jersey. Sucks cause I like the dresses I have out of jersey but I always forget to look for it when I'm at the fabric store :(. Either way, I have a lot of maternity clothes to make and buy in the next couple months and I will be needing the funds to do so, SO I need to start selling more of the stuff I currently have made and take on some more commissions :) So if you guys need bags, skirts, or dresses please let me know and check out my facebook page to see the stuff I have ready to purchase and ship.
