Swatches: BFTE, Geek Chic, OCC

Hey everyone! Here's my new swatches for a few products I mentioned in my last post.

All Shadow Swatches:
Left to right - Wet, dry, over primer, over white base, over black base

Beauty From The Earth
Mineral Shadows

Hitchcock

A beautiful mid tone brown with copper sparkle. This one is really quite sparkly - I'm definitely loving this one.

Promises

Bubbly

Promises is an orange toned red with light shimmer

Bubbly is so hard to capture - champagne nude with a goldy green shimmer. It's super pretty :)

Spellbound

I seem to have a curse with this shade of blue. I have now bought it about 5 times from diff companies (they are all slightly different in color, sheen, shimmer, tone, etc). Apparently I like this shade :) I did think this one would be deeper though.

Victoria

Treason

Victoria is a beautiful rose pink color with notes of light copper brown and gold shimmer. Super sparkly and wonderful.

Treason is listed as a brown with green shimmer and it is very true. A lovely olive tone to this neutral with a gold shimmer comes out when it's applied wet or over a base.

Archangel

Katamari King

Archangel is my favourite color ever. It is super hard to find a true iced green color (that's not turquoise or sea foam). It is a lovely jadey-emerald mix color iced down to perfection :)

Katamari King is the dreamiest true lavender I have ever used. It has light blue and pearlescent shimmer.

Momo Lip Gloss

Fantastic color! Peach with gold flecks and buildable color so it goes on sheer nude at first but builds to this beautiful shade. And it tastes like papaya! Definitely my go-to color now :)

Trollop

Anime is so neon pink it is truly a challenge to photograph. This is the truest to color I could get for this one. Super bright - not for the faint of heart.

Sour Grapes is discontinued sadly as it is a really nice color. This is quite pinkier than it actually is. It has more of a plum tone in person.

Memento is kind of a nude with a coral tone. Hard to describe - it looks like a warm nude in the tube but goes on coral-ish.

Trollop is similar; looks more natural pink/plum but goes on like a rich coral pink. It is still a beautiful color - the most daily wearable one out of thes 4 in my opinion.

So there's the new swatches, more photos to come in the next little while of sewing, more swatches, and craziness!

The Sewing Continues! And other updates...

I've been sewing my little butt off lately and I have a bunch of new things to show you guys! Unfortunately I don't have any of the photos uploaded yet so those will have to wait until the next entry. Sad but necessary.

I've finished my sons 2nd birthday gift - a batman theme'd bedding set! It's made from all 100% cotton and 100% cotton flannel authentic batman prints and there's a quilt, fitted sheet, and pillowcase. It's so awesome I can't even tell you. With some of the left over fabric I had (there's quite a bit actually) I made myself...
A Batman Underbust Corset! It's also too awesome for words. I have no idea where I will wear it or what I will wear it with as all my previous corsets have been either quite fancy or gothy for photo shoots.

On top of all that I've finished designing the Two-Mix collection and am halfway through re-drawing them (my son decided to color all over the original sketches in my book). I also found the re-drawn Rurutia collection from last spring which no one has seen yet. Once my new multi-function is set up I will scan all of them and show you all. Yes they will be available for purchase but only on a "by order" basis. So let's say you want one of the pieces, I won't have it pre-made in basic sizes but I will make it for you with your measurements and fabric color choices. Why? A) I just don't have the funds or time to make and carry multiple collections in stock of different sizes and B) You get exactly what you want. None of this "I like that skirt but I wish it were a few inches longer and in blue instead of yellow". Exactly. What. You. Want. End of story.

I also have a bunch of new swatches to upload in the next while so you can expect to see a few entries over the next week or so ladden with pictures of pretty things :).

Beauty From The Earth: Swatches

Beauty From The Earth is an indie make-up company that specializes in mineral make-ups (they also sell lashes, brushes, and gel liners). The company is owned and run by the wonderful Crystal Lampe who exhibits the absolute best customer service I have seen anywhere in my life - not just make-up companies, I mean ANYWHERE. You can tell she truly believes in the company and respects her clientelle with a personalism that you just don't get at most places. Through their Facebook page (link at the bottom of the post) she runs almost constant contests and give-aways. There are currently two running - "365 Days of BFTE" where they select one look posted on their wall per day and award the client with a free full size jar of shadow with their next order; and "20,000 Fans Give-Away" which may be ending this week (I'm not sure). A multitude of businesses run by their clients have donated products, and a winner will be randomly selected from who "likes" said image in the Facebook album (check it out if I didn't describe it well enough).

I finally got around to swatching my colors from them (shadows only) and I would love to share them with you.
